In October 2014, as the Facebook group 4074 Community & Beyond was nearing 1,000 members, they decided to hold a community barbecue to celebrate. During community consultation it was also decided to support three local charities and the business community donated numerous prizes that were raffled to raise funds for these worthwhile charities.
Along the way, with the support of the local Council and Rotary, the barbecue turned into the 4074 Community & Beyond Inaugural Family Fun Day. The community got behind the event, word of mouth spread, and the Family Fun Day was a success.
With the success of that first event and the community’s encouragement, it was decided to make it an annual event with the addition of local artist and bakery stalls, more attractions and hopefully, a little more fun!
The 4074 Family Fun Day is first and foremost about families, community and belonging and creating a fun and safe environment for all to enjoy.
